Julie Trachta is a certified nurse-midwife and clinical director for the Division of Midwifery at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, where she has worked since 2006. A native of Pittsburgh, Julie has dedicated her career to providing compassionate care in women’s health, with a focus on contraception, STI management, and care for clients with disabilities. She also serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Pittsburgh, where she mentors the next generation of midwives.
Julie’s personal connection to the hospital where she works is deeply meaningful; she was born there and later gave birth to her two daughters at the same facility. In addition to her clinical work, Julie has published in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and is an advocate for creating a safe, welcoming environment for all patients, including those from the LGBTQIA community.
